Westley is a beautiful black kitty with a white spot on his chest. He's sturdy (not fat, he will have you know it's all muscle!) and healthy. He is named after Westley from The Princess Bride, so his nicknames include “the dread pirate Roberts” and “the man in black.”

He loves humans more than cats. It takes him a minute to get used to a new person, but then he'll cuddle. He likes to nap against your thigh, and sleeping in the bed at night (at least for a while). He loves being pet, and really loves rigorous patting on his back. Overall, he basically craves attention and is very happy when he receives it. If there are other cats getting pets, he might get jealous and insert himself into the situation so he also gets pets. He might get overstimulated from too much patting, in which case he'll mew or give a tiny soft nip with teeth to let you know he's done.

He likes having fresh air and a view. Got a catio, or an open window? He'd love it! Be careful when opening doors to the outside, as he might try to slip out if he's close by.

Westley enjoys children, calm dogs, and male cats, but is not a big fan of female cats. He's choosy about his animal companions and prefers people. 

He would thrive in a household where he gets lots of attention, with fewer or no other cats and no adult female cats. He accepts claw trimming pretty well, and loves being brushed. You can pick him up and hug him, just don't throw your back out (again, he's hefty!). He likes chasing the laser dot and “the bird” fishing wand, and catnip kicky toys. He gets a bit jumpy around thunderstorms and fireworks, and might hide for a bit.
