The Cats of Calvin's Need YOU

Calvin's Paws neither requests nor accepts government funding. We are a no-kill, 501(c)(3) charity and our program depends on   your  support.    A donation of   any  amount is very much appreciated - and it's tax-deductible!

Would you like to donate to our free spay/neuter program?

Calvin's Paws is sponsoring a free spay/neuter clinic that is open to the public to help ensure that everyone can afford to spay and neuter their pets. Spaying and neutering as many animals as possible is part of the core mission of Calvin's Paws, and is the only way to reduce pet overpopulation. Thousands of animals die in North Carolina alone every year simply because there is not enough space in shelters to house them. How can you save 100 animals? By spaying just one.

Where does your money go?

We are an all-volunteer, non-profit group, so 100% of your donation goes directly to the cats! Our adoption fees typically do not cover the entire cost of what we spend on a cat, so in order to keep helping animals, we must receive donations from people like you!

How much does it cost to rescue a cat?

The exact amount that we spend on each cat can vary greatly depending on what care the cat has already had and their health while in our program. Here are our average costs per cat:

  • Male cat (kitten or unneutered adult): $105
  • Female cat (kitten or unspayed adult): $145
  • Cats that have already been spayed/neutered: $60 (minimum)

‹These costs are just the base cost for medical care that every cat that comes through our program needs. Even relatively common illnesses (upper respiratory infections, diarrhea, dental care, etc.) can increase our costs dramatically. Plus, every year, there are always a few cats that come to us needing some kind of specialized care or surgery that can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

How can you make a difference?

Donations of any amount help tremendously! Even $10 will pay for at least one vaccine! You can either make a general donation:

Did you know that monthly giving is an incredibly easy way to support Calvin’s Paws? Our donors who make monthly gifts provide a consistent, reliable income stream, allowing us to focus more resources on our lifesaving programs, and less on raising the necessary funds. Donors like it because it’s easy to budget and it feels great to be making a difference every month of the year.

Bequests and Legacy Gifts

A bequest to Calvin’s Paws in your will or other element of your estate plan ensures that we will be able to care for animals in need for many years into the future. As a result of your estate donation, you will be recognized as a member of the League’s 1914 Society for our legacy donors. We use this name because the League was founded nearly 100 years ago in 1914. Imagine that—almost a century of helping animals in need! We intend to be here to help similar animals for yet another century—and beyond—and you are helping to make that possible.

Our hope is that you will let us know about your planned gift so we can thank and recognize you. Click here for more information on making a bequest to Calvin's Paws.
